Christening Baptism Photography London Greek Orthodox Ceremony. I received an enquiry from Louisa who was looking to book a photographer to capture her daughter being christened in a Greek Orthodox Church in Wood Green. The church was St Mary’s Greek Orthodox Church – sometimes known as St Mary’s Cathedral; a very grand church with some beautiful architectural elements.

When I arrived I introduced myself to the priest and I have to say that he was absolutely fantastic. He was very friendly and let me photograph wherever I wanted. It was great to have so much freedom but I remained very discrete and kept my distance so I remained unobtrusive.

I really like photographing Christenings and find it interesting learning about the traditions of different faiths. The highlight of the Greek Orthodox christenings for me is when the children are immersed in water 3 times. There are always great unique moments to be captured when this happens.
